A very debated question. And well the answer is very simple, it depends on the body. The structure of each individual is different, so is his/her need of sleep. Why do we actually need sleep? Our body needs sleep because, our sleeping hours are considered to be the resting hours for our body. Even though our brain and other internal organs functions without a halt even when we are sleeping, the external activities gets completely stopped. But, the internal activities is performed by the body with an accelerated pace.’
At night in the sleeping hours, the body generates energy and rejuvenates itself to take upon the challenges of the following day. The mind processes the thoughts and memories of the entire day and transforms it to a consolidated form. The sleep is the period when the body repairs the cells and tissues and grows the muscles. So, sleep is definitely important for the body to maintain its freshness and active day-to-day performance, but the hours of sleep each body requires to carry out all the afore mentioned processes depends on the structure of each body.
Cases have been found where people sleep only for four hours a day and still there body functions without any defect or issues. But, those are rare cases. So to be on the safer side it is always better to have minimum of 6 hours of sleep and maximum of 8 -9 hours of sleep, as it is always better to not go in extremes and remain in moderation.
So, fellas understand your bodies and accordingly decide how much hours of sleep you actually need. Too much of sleep and too less of sleep both are problematic and have their own consequences. So, understand your body’s need and decide your sleeping hours.
