We all remember Nokia only as a mobile phone brand but there is more to the name. The Nokia comapany first started out as a paper mill which was found by Fredrik Idestam in 1865 in south-Western Finland. Later a second second mill was established in the nearby town of Nokia in 1868.
Idestam, with the help of his friend Leo Mechelin , renamed his firm into a share company, thereby founding Nokia in 1871.
The company’s name came from the Nokia town and the Nokianvirta river. The company kept growing and in the 1960s it reached out to electronics. Since then Nokia has come a long way.
From Nokias very first phone to the latest nokia phones the name has gone through verious stage. The world saw the rise dominance and fall of the brand. Although in due course of time Nokia fell out of the smart phone era. Its ever loyal customers stayed. And this year, 2017, Nokia returns to the smartphone space with a bang. Nokia’s first Android smartphone, the Nokia 6 has hit the market.
The handset, which is a China exclusive, sold out in under one minute. Ya, you heard it right in a minute. Dont worry the phone will be coming to other countries soon.
